Wilmington Int'l sets passenger record in 2010

Now it’s official.
Spurred on by its busiest December ever despite some wintry weather along the East Coast playing havoc on flight schedules, the Wilmington International Airport flew past the old mark and set a new passenger record for 2010.
Nearly 822,000 travelers passed through the airport last year, beating the old record set in 2008 by nearly 7,000 passengers.
The record-setting year for Wilmington comes even as the region’s overall economy continues to struggle to emerge from the Great Recession.
