SMALL COMMUNITY AIR SERVICE DEVELOPMENT GRANT TO ILM
Wilmington, NC – We are pleased to report that the US Department of Transportation announced today that ILM was awarded a $750,000 grant under the Small Community Air Service Development Program (SCASDP).  The purpose of the SCASDP is to provide financial assistance to aid small communities like ILM with improving air service.

The SCASDP is a very competitive process and requires local community support in terms of matching funds.  “This award is due in large part to the strong public-private financial commitment of $211,300 we received from New Hanover County, the City of Wilmington and 11 local businesses resulting in a total grant of $961,300, and the 67 letters of support from other businesses in our service region,” says Jon Rosborough.

Air service plays a vital role in the recruitment, development, and retention of business in a community and ILM is a key economic engine for our region with a total annual economic impact in excess of $641,000,000.
